Had one for two years, had to make my own rear pads and i had some old awning poles which i used at the rear after sewing pockets in for them. Before that wind blew in terrible, and i also fitted storm straps to the steel poles each side to hold it down. After doing this it has stood up to some very strong winds which it would not have done otherwise.Have just now ordered a more substantial awning, but three times the price.
Look on my gallery you will see guy ropes i fitted
i have looked this one seems to be the quickest to put up does anyone know if you can buy direct from dorema as the factory is only 15miles away from me
I think you will find they only deal direct when they have old stock factory clearance. One of their main dealers is Yorkshire caravans Bawtry. When i bought ours it was on E-bay and was delivered next day.
Can't see what's easy with the mistral what's the difference have Iissed something ?
The poles are easier the shape is easier than anything we have had before invluding the kampa rally's
The Mistral is the easiest awning i have put up in over 40 years of caravanning. (approx 10 mins). But as said in my earlier posts, without doing my own modifications to it, there was lots of wind and also rain blowing in.

Looking at the pictures of ventura awnings they are a standard common shape that is used by practically all awning manufacturers. Dorema have quicklock poles and I can't see where the ventura awnings would be any faster to erect than similar Dorema awnings.
Looking at the pictures the mistral has just one U-shaped pole assembly. It seems obvious to me that it is going to be very easy to put up.
I agree that the Ventura have similar poles to other awnings but we still find easier to put up than any other awning we have had (dorema porch and full pyramid and kampa rally)I suppose that that is just us
I didn't realise the mistral is just one u shaped pole maybe as am in phone and pic is tiny :)
