M25 is usually slower than most motorways , just allow yourself plenty of time , there are often delays and numbskulls but that's the case for most driving in the UK !

They have started to remove the tolls at Dartford now, hopefully it wont be too long before they are gone completely. Then it will be same system as congestion charge, pay before or after you cross.

It's annoying that the tolls are still there, as they told us that they would be removed when the crossing had paid for itself. That was done many years ago!

I believe that the crossing is now owned by a French private company, so people using it are just lining someone's pockets.

Don't think they have, I go through there twice a day and no evidence of that.

We live about 20 minutes away from the dreaded M25-QE2 bridge, we absolutely hate this road.......Our caravan is in storage in South Devon, so its either the M25 or going through London.   One thing we have learnt, on advice from others that use it everyday, and our observations, is that if you can get to the bridge before 6.00am it doesn't appear to be as manic, and you have a better chance of getting round the M25 without too many delays (but it's still pot luck)....

We've found getting there at 6.30am and its starting to jam up........that half hour seems to make a real difference

If we fly anywhere usually from Gatwick, we always stay at an airport hotel the night before, as we had some nightmare journeys to Gatwick. It should take a maximum of approx an hour, we've had one journey that took just over 4 hours (nearly missed the flight, along with loads of others) and another journey that took 3 and a half.

The M25 is the worlds largest carpark

As someone pretty nearby to you I agree with all of that!
