any comments on this awning. we are due to collect one of these tomorrow.

We ordered it to tick the following

Lightweight... 11kg
Easy to erect
Good size for porch awning
Good value, or we think so
Looks nice and tidy

The only reason why we didn't opt for the mistral all weather was because of the weight

Bought ours 2 years ago and they did not have rear poles and pads, we stitched pockets for some old poles in and made our own pads.Without these it does not seal against van side, about 40-50mm gap and wind and rain got in.Have just dumped it this year for a better quality approx £100 dearer which as rear pads and poles

Have now bought Outdoor Revolution Compactalite 325 which is slightly larger and has more poles which gives it more support when windy and stops it flapping about.It is still made of lightweight material and the back has sewn in pads but the rear poles we bought as optional extras.With the extra poles £334.97 from Norwich camping&leisure.http://www.norwichcamping.co.uk/products/outdoor-revolution-compactalite-pro-classic-325-awning-graphite-2013---or13115/ Only takes aboute five minutes longer to errect.If you click on picture of mistral on my gallery you will see it blown full of wind through lack of poles and the weather was calm and sunny at the time picture was taken

We had one of these....it was a Leisurewize....husband hated the bendy poles and he reckons it took too long....having said that he is a cynical man with the glass half empty than full....

With this in mind we are thinking of upping our choice to the mistral all season....more expensive tho....

it's all a mind field....pot luck

ps how did you find the rear with no poles or pads ? the upgraded mistral has pads and rear poles....I reckon the material is sturdier too as it all weighs 5k more

The material was waterproof but slightest breeze without the back poles and pads it ballooned up and rain also came in at back. Before i added my own storm straps we had to take it down when it was windy.We have a full size Dorema awning which we have not used for the last 4 years and that is why we bought the mistral as it was same make, but very disappointed with it. It was definitely the worst awning we bought in over 40 years of caravanning.

Got a minstral ripstop as our full size awning was a lot of work for weekends. Immediately impressed. First time putting up took 22 minutes without instructions and we are novices.
We have the one without rear poles but absolutely no problems with rain or wind. Previous reviews did mention this as an issue so I brought two spreader clamps to keep it tight but didn't need them (or duct tape which I brought also). Plenty of room for table and 4 chairs.
There are two side doors and two larger front doors. The two fronts can be used or removed individually. Side doors have mesh windows with ziped external blinds. There are also two side windows with internal blinds which use Velcro. The two front doors have a large window in each with internal zips. All blinds roll up so they are either up or down (I.e. Cannot be put half way). Pegs are heavy duty basics, but are very strong, with ladder type ties all around.
Also comes with a caravan skirt and ground sheet which was a welcome surprise as this was not mentioned
There are two side poles and one roof pole which are linked together with springs so you will never have to decide which ljoins to which. The quick extension clamps are very good and strong. Poles are all installed externally. The roof one through sleeves and the side ones with clips.
Overall, I would recommend highly. I was surprised, when taking the awning down, that it stayed up without pegs but thee was no wind to mention at the time.
Only issue I can think of (and I am trying) is that the material, being very waterproof, does get internal condensation and seemed to take a while to dry.
Hope this helps as I was a bit sceptical when buying with so little reviews.
