Been offered a new Ventura Marlin porch awning for £600 or a used Isabella Magnum Moonlight porch awning in very good condition for £500. Not sure which one to go for. Both are from Lowdhams and the lady advised the Isabella was the best one to go for. Any experience of the above and advise before I decide would be great.
I dont know the ventura model you refer to but I have to say I have seen several of the isabella's and they are lovely. They are clearly very very good quality and look fab. If the second hand one is in good condition then I would be tempted by that and would definitely go for that if it is a favourable price- Im not sure how much they are new.

Ventura are made by Isabella and, unless you have pretensions of grandeur or really prefer the Isabella I'd have the Ventura and save the £100 for something else.
You would be hard pressed to notice a discernable difference in quality.

I had similar dilemma when buying second hand. I bought the isabella magnum. Very happy with the magnum moonlight. Easy to put up and down on my own and looks smart. I think that's probably reasonable price for either if in great condition dependent on age. I noticed on eBay people asking for far too much, looking at previous isabella catalogues (all available on their website - which is great!) it was clear that the colours of some gave away their age and was inconsistent with sellers description.
We bought a Ventura Cadet a few years ago, one of the seams came apart after 11 monthes just before the guarantee
run out, they repaired it,the next time we used it we went to a coastal caravan park and after a windy night a seam around the window came apart.
Paid out this time to have it repaired and sold it very cheap with a truthful explination to the buyer why it was so cheap
Ventura are made by Isobella in easten block europe
my purchase was when Isobella first introduced the budget brand and i have no doubt that they have improved a lot since my experiance
We will also be looking to replace our awning next year and it will probebly be an Isobella or a Inaca
we have a ventura cadet and a ventura marlin and tbh they are fantastic quality i think at the end of the day its down to whether you want new or used xx
We have a ventura porch awning and are very happy with it. They are made by Isabella anyway. That said we were looking for a good second hand isabella at the time and couldn't find one. Your choice I think is new or used.

Are you sure of your facts?
Are the Ventura "made by Isabella"? My understanding was they were made by Ventura a Portuguese company owned by Isabella.
I also read that the Isabella Magnum offered to the OP saved a £100, relative to the Ventura.
I would unhesitatingly take the Magnum at the price and description offered, it is a more expensive product. Ventura are excellent value but not totally comparable products with the Danish Isabella.
HI Paul can I throw my oar in to the discussion DOREMA Dutch Awnings Have 10 cate all season material porch awnings for sale at their Castleford Yorkshire factory for £335 brand new. Ihave had the smaller model used on three different vans over 10years and is still in excellent condition. google Dorema awings UK see their offers. maybe save your self a further £200 quid.

Greetings JTQU,
Yes you are right. I got the wrong end of the stick as far as which one was the second hand one.
I think it's splitting hairs to argue that Isabella own Ventura but, because one is apparently made in a different country to Denmark it isn't the same outfit. They have the same ethos but I stand by my original comment. Buy the second hand one and save the £100.
I'll now go and stand in the corner.
