We have just bought a two year old Swift Challenger Swift 382 two berth after previously having a Freedom Microlite, which we grew out of when the two dogs arrived!!
We only went to have a look at our local dealers on Easter bank holiday Monday and just as we were walking back to the car, saw this little caravan which we fell in love with. Went home to discuss whether we really needed another caravan, had a worried night in case someone else had bought it and went back today to have another look to check it was really the one for us... and it was. Did the paperwork etc and went back to the van to have a final look, as it wont be ready for two weeks, and there was another couple in it having a look round!!!! We waited for them to come out and said sorry but we have just bought the van... they were a bit crestfallen and stood looking at the van and asked if we had got a good deal on the price !!!! We were so glad we had gone back in time to get it, narrow escape. Anyway its good to be back with a caravan after last years expedition with our tent in the strong winds and rain, much as though I love the tent, will still keep our tenting stuff as you never know when it will be needed.

Sounds great - similar thing happened to us recently looking for our first ever caravan . There are 2 local dealers , we went to the first one and saw a lovely caravan ( Sterling Eccles Opal) , we were offered what seemed a very good deal so trying to be sensible we said we will think about it . Went to local dealer 2 discussed the first offer and he said go back and sign it's a god deal and it will soon go . Went back just as the owner was locking up , got her to unlock and signed up ! Hopefully so
we will get it in a week or 2 . Hope you enjoy your new van

Ha Ha yes it is dangerous!!! we nearly chose a big 4 berth Swift, but came to our senses, realising we like to spend most of our time outside if possible, so we don't need a massive indoor space, just an awning to make use of outdoor eating and BBQs and somewhere for the dogs to snooze in.

Just to get you even more excited press the play button on the bottom left of the box with the caravans name, scroll down a little first, then play the video video
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Having to wait two weeks as it is a smaller dealer and they have been inundated with sales over Easter, and when we were there on Easter Monday the place was crowded with caravan hunters!!!! Also the service was due so they were doing that before pick up, included in the price. We are not going away until June so we are not in a rush ourselves, we have to clean and put the dingy and trailer up for sale to make room on the drive for the little beast!! Also included in the sale was the 8 years remaining of the previous owners 10 year Swift warranty, so that was good.
Yes thanks Alpiner, that is a little reminder of what we have bought, have also got an awning to go with it as we like to spend as much time as possible outside and now we are planning what table and chairs to go in there, where to put the dogs beds inside and out.
So many exciting things to consider.

I used to wonder at people getting excited and spending time and money choosing matching crockery and fancy chairs and tables, we had all sorts of plates, cups, plates etc and our chairs and tables had been collected from wherever, back in the camping under canvas days, but now I am eagerly looking at all sorts of matching crockery wondering whether they will go in the van or not and what exactly we do need or what is just a whim....
Is there stuff that we need for a caravan that we didn't need for camping?, we are getting an aquaroll, levelling chocks and a step!! so far but there must be bits and bobs that make life easier.

Congrats on the van, it sounds great!
I think you will need a waste water container as well as the above, but check what is coming with it, as these are sometimes included in the deal.
And if it has a loo, some blue stuff for the waste tank is good!
Yes, Aldoscott, two weeks does seem to be a long time to wait, only been a few days so far and feels like ages!!!
and Jax365 a waste container sounds essential as well as the blue stuff, not had a loo or washroom before with the tent or Freedom Microlite, so a bathroom is a luxury but a necessity really nowadays.
At least having this time enables us to plan and prepare and consider the logistics of putting up the awning for the first time on a strange campsite, as we have no room on the drive, still all very exciting.

We're picking up our first van in 3 weeks and we actually chose to wait 5 weeks!! As Jacquette said, it's giving us time to get everything sorted, insurance, storage, tow bar and the like!! After that they'll be no stopping us!!
