Lunar overproduced last season and a couple of dealers bought large amounts of vans from them.If you dont mind last years model..still new there could be a bargain to be had .Catterick caravans in north yorks was one dealer and possibly Campbells in Preston area.Worth an enquiry?

A couple of years ago we got a Powrtouch motor mover (£1000 at the time) a starter pack with full awning etc on a 5 year old caravan so i would hope for a lot more on a new one.

Depends on your trade in and what they give you for it, we just swapped and took delivery Feb, we got around £750 more trade in than I expected, plus £1500 off the new van and they swapped the mover over and gave us an Alko wheel lock. Van also has Solar panel - as a show offer from the manufacturer.
Should add that list was £17500 round figures.

At this time of year maybe not as much as you hope for.
I would get the list of dealerships for the van you are after and call around for the best offer. But I believe there can be problems getting local dealer to do warranty or service if you buy elsewhere. If that's true it is disgraceful.

There are always deals going though if you push hard enough.

We are looking for a new van at present and none of the dealers we have visited have been keen on offering any kind of deal.Guessing the time of year means they don't need to be too generous.

You are asking the wrong people, we are not selling the caravan.

But, fyi. A dealer does not give anything away, he makes as much profit as possible. If it is a caravan he can't shift it then he will discount it to a certain extent. A dealer would rather dispose of a caravan he cannot shift at a loss through the trade that sell it at below retail price to you. Doing that would damage the retail market.

Every caravan on the dealer's forecourt will have a bottom line, the dealer will not go below this. You can use your negotiating skills to get him down to this price & no lower.

You have to tell the dealer your best price, he will not tell you his before hearing yours. once the dealer has heard your best price then he will tell you his which with a popular caravan might be the full retail price but whatever it is it will not be below the prearranged bottom line the dealer has set himself.

If you want to call the dealer's bluff then give him you best price, give him your phone number & leave. If he does not phone then do doubt he will have sold it to another customer who offered a better price.

Thanks for the advice.

We are looking to buy new as we want a warranty and there doesn't seem much to save between a brand new van with a discount to a nearly new van.

Still can't understand why they strip the motor movers from the trade-ins. What do they do with all the awnings too?

A lot of dealers will leave motor movers on the vans, but awnings usually get sold on as seconds hand awnings,either in there accessory ships if they have them or on eBay or Gumtree.

Sell them on ebay under a different name along with the caravans that are in no fit state to sell on the forecourt. That way they can add value to sales with new movers & awnings although you might think you have a bargain if they throw in £500 worth of extras which will have cost them less than half that of course.
