We bought a second hand caravan last year and as we have started cleaning the outside we have noticed an awful lot of decking splashes all around the bottom of the van, we have gently tried rubbing it off but to no avail its not moving.
Can anyone suggest anything to remove it as it looks awful, the caravan is cream coloured and the decking stain is dark brown so you can imagine how unsightly it looks.
Possibly a tar spot remover from a car accessory shop may work, main thing is not to rub to much that you go through the paint, also it may be worth trying WD40 as that is a solvent so it should break down the spots without damaging the paintwork.

..Cheers guys, will have a go at the t-cut treatment, and some other suggestions on the fence paint topic, hope something works as it is quite ugly looking.

T cut on caravan paint could only be used very sparingly. Caravan paint is much thinner than car paint for which T cut is designed.
Decking "paint" is often entirely different than fence paint. Fence paint is water based. Decking often oil based.
I suggest you try different solutions on a spot in an obscure as possible part of the van to find out which works.
If it's oil based I would expect white spirit or petrol to shift it with gentle rubbing.
Water based should move with water & gentle rubbing.
Many thxs for this, its defo not water based as its dried on, will try your suggestions first before we try more drastic actions, and will make sure its tried right at the bottom of the van up against the decking so it wont be seen.
As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Nail varnish remover normally contains acetone, and this is likely to remove the van's paint as well as the decking oil. Use petrol as suggested earlier, but in an inconspicuous area to start with - take great care with petrol and wear appropriate gloves.
