Hello, very excited as we have just bought our very first caravan, an Abbey GTS 418.
We would like a full awning but are baffled by all the different choices.
So any suggestions would be appreciated. We will be touring throughout the year, overnight stops to week long breaks and France hopefully next summer. So would like one that is light and easy to erect. Not wanting an inflatable awning though.
Have a think about why you need an awning and what you intend to use it for. You may find that one awning for full weeks, overnight stops and year round touring won't fit the bill. I use a full awning for longer holidays for added space, storage, somewhere to lounge and add an additional bedroom for my daughters in summer. I use a 390 lightweight for shorter breaks, quicker to put up and offer all the above but a bit smaller. I also have a prochlite square which is fab for winter breaks as it provides somewhere to keep the chairs, store shoes and wet coats. If you only want one awning, probably a 390 style might suit (however, I bet within a year you will have an awning collection!!! We all do it!)
