We didn't want to do a bank transfer as our bank takes 2 hours minimum to transfer the funds and when we first went to see it it was at his seasonal pitch, not his home address and we would have been collecting 2 weeks later from his home address so we wanted to make sure we weren't going to send him the money then get there to find the caravan wasn't there. Thankfully it was all legit, but I would hate to take a chance with that amount of money.
I've never heard of anyone giving fake or stolen bankers drafts before. Thought they were meant to be super reliable and safe.

However, I would strongly advise you to go to your bank and ask their advice. If your bank is nearby, then you could always take your buyer to the bank and do the transaction then.
This is exactly what we did when we sold our Bongo for thousands. Guy had no problem coming to our bank a ten minute drive away and depositing money there and then. If its an honest transaction the buyer should be OK with it and understand the reasoning behind it.

Ebay is the best option via paypal, you are then fully covered
From a buyers perspective maybe but not from a sellers. eBay take their cut of the sale then PayPal take theirs(even though they're the same company). On a £10k sale you'd probably lose over £1k in fees! No thanks.

Also you are not fully covered because you use PayPal. If buyer raises a dispute paypal can recover the money!
I've just sold both a caravan and a Merc Vito via ebay. Post the ad as a classified and you only pay for the listing and ebay don't take a percentage of the sale. I sold the vito for £6k and the caravan for £7.5k and my total fees were under £40 for both.
Both buyers paid cash and I politely asked them to collect during bank opening hours so they could pay directly into my account in the branch. The bank checked the notes and amount. The only hassle I did have was the bank asked on both occasions where the cash had came from. We were taken into a small office and I had to log onto my ebay account on the branch managers computer and show her my ebay account to prove so. Something to do with money laundering laws.
