OK, we've only been 'vanning a couple of years and camping before that....
But every time we call in to where our van is stored and her parents are sited, and if we have a visit to a caravan accessories shop....
We always have thoughts of wanting to run our own camping and /or caravan site....
Am not alone in having these thoughts....?
Hi there, My wife and I had a similar thought to yours 10 years ago. I gave up my Sales job and we both went to work at an independent caravan site.
The good news was that we have never felt fitter in our lives and the weight just dropped off us.
The bad news was the extremely long hours, very hard physical work, one day off a week, working every weekend, dealing with stroppy customers / kids, who had no manners or the slightest compunction at leaving the toilets / showers in a right state. What their homes look like I dread to think!
We have many tales of whoa regarding this period in our lives, not all bad, but mostly. It is definately not a job where you sit on a mower all day long, it's much more than that. It could have been the private site that we worked for because we applied for the C&CC and had our trial with them and this was a better experience and better working conditions, still long hours and hard work but better! Unfortunately, due to family illnesses we were not able to continue down this path.
In conclusion, if it's what you want to do then think really hard before you do it. Many, love it, but it's not the breeze you may think!
Hope this helps you.
Brian
