Does anyone have a ace supreme 5 berth 2005 if so what gas do we get to use and what size please. Thank you.

Have a look at the regulator (where the gas bottle connects to) and see what colour it is as it will be either blue (Butane) or red (Propane). The cylinder sizes for both are identical but caravanners will usually opt for either the 7kg. butane bottle (all steel) or 6kg. butane which comes in two versions which is standard all steel OR Calor-Lite which is half the weight of a standard cylinder. Two Calor-Lite cylinders are the weight of one steel one so if you are struggling to get the noseweight down at all then this is the best option. You can buy a smaller cylinder which is 4.5kg. Butane or 3.9kg. Propane. You cannot swap a Butane cylinder for a Propane one or visa-versa so it's best to get the type you intend caravanning with. If you intend caravanning during the winter then Propane is definitely the one you need as it still operates below freezing temperatures whereas Butane doesn't.

On a 2005 you will have a bulkhead regulatornot the type tango55 speaks of. These have a pigtail hose fitted and dependant on the end fitting as to whether it has had propane or butane fitted previously. However these hoses have a 5 year life and should be changed after this period. If I was you I would check the date on the hose and if needed replace it. I would suggest getting a propane hose and bottle. Butane will freeze up in cold weather so if you want to use your van year round you will need propane.

oh btw 6kg calor lites are your best bet.

Hi thank you iv looked at the colour and it's yellow I'm presuming the previous owner used propane as it's as you described battle with the hose which yes does need replacing thanks for that the date is 2004 :-/ thanks again.
