My caravan is a coachman mirage 350/2 and looking at the cooker hob and oven it should have an electronic ignition but this isn't working does it need batterys, I have looked but can't find any? Can anyone help?
Have you got a leisure battery connected up?
I think this is the source of the ignition which is possibly the same as a fridge with electronic ignition.

Have you got the switch Car/Van switched to 'VAN'? It has to be switched to 'VAN' as this is the 12 volt power from the vans's leisure battery. If it is then have a look at where the 240 volt mains trip switches are as there may also be a rocker switch that also supplies 12 volt power and this should be illuminated. If it isn't then switch that over and then try the electronic igniter.
I struggled most of this afternoon, in our new to us Eccles Topaz, trying to get the cooker working. After trying every thing at least twice, I found out that the glass lid was'nt fully opened, apparently there is a cutoff switch on it, when it was fully back everything worked perfectly
That's probably a safety feature on the newer caravans though. The Coachman Mirage range were manufactured in the late 80's to mid 90's so I doubt if it's the cooker lid causing the problem.
Is there actually a press button where the cooker knobs are to operate the electronic igniter?
I wouldn't have thought that Coachman would have installed one in the Mirage as it was bottom of their range with the Genius being mid range and the VIP being the higher spec. I had a Genius model and there wasn't an electronic igniter on the cooker we had although there was on the Electrolux fridge.
You say there's no separate button so where does it show that the cooker has electronic ignition, is it on each individual dial or somewhere else?
If it is what is the symbol showing?
