M6 southbound and exit at junction 20a (M56/Chester).
Continue M56 which continues A464 (North Wales).
Continue along A464 then follow signs for A55 Conwy.
Continue A55 and exit at junction 19 (A470/Betws-Y-Coed).
Follow A470 all the way to the end which is the A5 'T' junction.
Turn right onto A5 and continue to Betws-Y-Coed.
I agree with that. The only tricky bit is in Llanrwst where you've got a nasty little S bend coming into the town. As long as you take that carefully and don't meet a coach coming the other way you'll be OK.
Theres also a couple of steepish winding hills near to Bodnant Gardens, but you should be fine with a well matched unit. Our old car managed them as long as we didnt have to stop to let traffic turn in near to the salvage yard and garden centre, but otherwise we always managed to get up it in 2nd gear. We took our CRV up it in March, towing about 1260kg and had no problems at all.
