Hi - Got a leaking kitchen tap.
The leak seems to come from the base of the mixer.
I seem to remember you can remove the mixer by "firmly" pulling it of whilst supporting the rest of the taps unit.
Is this correct?
If so can I then replace the washer/s and refit?
My previous van had a Reich mixer tap. my present van has a Whale elegance mixer tap, both taps look identical to me in outward apperance though I know they both work differently. the reich tap leaked at the base, were the spigot with aerator is push into the base of the tap and held secure with a 3mm grub screw on the under side it was from this grub screw hole which had cracked that the tap leaked. as a temp repair I slackend grub screw and removed spigot the small stub tube on base of tap was then wrapped with gaffer tape cut to the correct width a jubilee clip of the correct size was slipped over tape and tightend after replacing the spigot with orignal o-ring which was ok. this stopped the leak and prevented water from running down beteewn cooker and sink. this was a satisfactory repair until I obtained a new tap from Wanderhomes Southcave at £50. the cheapest I could find on the net anywhere the price varied from dealer to dealer even ebay amazon etc the prices quoted ranged from £50 to £118 for same tap replacing the complete tap is a total whole new ball game which you have to remove the sink and glass cover to get at the under side the tap is held in place by a plastic nut which can be either 27mm or 32mm and the nut is fitted in a recess on underside of work surface
