Can not decide !!
We are looking to replace our 260 porch awning for a larger one. Have decided not to get conventional awning but to stick to lightweight.
Looking secondhand and narrowed down to.
Doremma starcamp 390. Will hang inner tent inside.
Sunncamp Mira 390. Separate annex.
Outdoor revolution journey 330. Unsure if can be used without annex or if annex be added either side.
Denver Ontario. Is 2000 hh enough in our British weather.

Any advice

As a matter of interest what make is the colour and make of you 260 porch awning as we are looking for one at present. We currently have a Dorema full awning but thinking of downsizing to a porch awning.

Towsure don't actually make awnings, they sell various branded names from their stores such as Kampa, Dorema, Sunncamp and Quest plus a few other well known brands. It's not the colour we were looking for anyway but it may help if name the brand when you do come to sell.

Okay, sorry for the intrusion of your thread as we were currently looking for a 260 porch awning and just thought it may save you the hassle of advertising that's all. I took it for granted that it WAS for sale so please accept my apologies.

My advice would be if your getting a bigger porch awning you would be better off with a full one.Same work putting up a big porch awning as well as a full awning.

We have always been very happy with sunncamp lightweight awnings. Had 2 but not tried the others so cannot really compare.

Having had lightweights and canvas porch and full awnings there is no way I would go back to heavyweight awnings. Full or porch. It's supposed to be fun!

Have a look at the Bradcot Modus. It's basic package is the size of a super porch but can be extended by 0.5 and 1 metre sections !. Probably out of your price range but well worth it if you can pick one up second hand !

Do towsure do a 390 lightweight porch awning. We have a 260 and have just got a 390 I think I got the 390 on Amazon and the 260 from the local camping shop. They are the same shape and the inner bedroom hanging tent thing from our 260 fits the 390. They are different manufacturers but I am convinced they are much of a muvhness as they are very similar material etc.. This then gives us enough room. As others have said I would not go back to a full size heavy awning they may look nice but the weight is huge and fighting to put it up is a pain so lightweight all the way. If it doesn't last more than a few years I can replace it

Thanks for all your replies. Don't wanna traditional full awning as we have 7.8m twin axle van and awnings to fit are huge. Too much weight and hassle unless away for minimum of two weeks
Have been a bit concerned about leaky lightweight awnings. Even quite expensive ones
From experience does it make much difference between hydrostatic head of 2000 on some compared to 4000 on others.
Is it worth extra cost, for awnings which look very similar.
Thanks
Milly

HI, we have just sold a kampa 390 plus annexe. Great awning, never leaked, lovely large annexe including inner tent. we have sold it as we have gone to a traditional awning!
But we were not dissapointed with it at all and wouldnt have sold it if we could of afforded the new awning without selling. Very impressed with Kampa though and have kept hold of our 260 size for weekend trips.
So my vote is for the kampa 390 plus.
