Hi Tango 55, just trying to research on instructions on how to mount a Royal Wessex 260 porch Awning , but can't get it, but I came along and seen you had the same problem years ago and found that information on pdf , would you by any chance have this on your possession or help me to get diagrams on how to mount it to caravan, 1st time caravan user , would appreciate your help please.
The diagram didn't fully explain how to attach the porch awning to the caravan, in fact the diagram was rather vague to be fair but enough to understand if you have experience with awnings like myself. However, I sold the Royal Wessex 260 porch awning 2 years ago along with the instructions so no longer have them at hand as I purchased a new Kampa 260 air awning instead.
Regarding mounting the awning is no different to any other awning as you just slide the cord into the awning rail and position the roof section along where you want it. The 3 flexible carbon fibre poles (with pole springs inside) slide into each other to create a long pole which then slide through the 3 awning roof channels independently which are located on the outside of the roof. When each pole is fully home it sits in a sewn in pocket adjacent to the awning cord. At the opposite ends of the poles (at the ground) there are 3 spigot ring pins that are adjustable so you loosen each one off then enter the round spigot pin into the end of each pole and tighten to adjust respectively. The remainder is just a matter of pegging down the guy ropes with tent/awning pegs but it's advisable to fit the storm straps as the material is very lightweight so not that sturdy in windy weather.
