Is anyone familiar with Knaus Caravans !. Are they suitable for the uk roads , in that is the door on our side. Also, are the electrics to uk standards . Is there any reason why not to buy one of these caravans. i'm new to caravans, so i'm not familiar with the do's and don'ts of caravaning.
Some German caravans have been built with doors on UK side in recent years but none at moment I think. Any Knaus you find will probably have door on 'wrong' side for UK. Chassis, interior fittings & appliances will be same as UK built caravans & they can be serviced by any UK caravan workshop. It is not difficult to change interior electrical sockets for UK 3pin if you want to.
You may find it does not have battery & if you want to fit one then you will probably have to fit a new transformer/charger as well. If you want to sell it, German caravans usually attract plenty of bids on UK ebay even if dealers don't want them as trade ins.
We had a caravan with the door on the wrong side for 7 years. Never had a problem. As others have said most parts on a caravan are common so servicing not a problem
