If you should decide to get fuel at Exeter Services when towing, remember to go to the furthest pump on the forecourt (i.e. the right-hand end of the line of pumps).
There are signs warning you about this.
You have to do a sharpish right turn as you leave the pumps & that pump allows enough room for you and the van to make the turn comfortably.
And yes, the fuel is expensive, but it's a convenient place for us to top up as it's roughly half way to west cornwall for us.

If you are coming off M5 for Exeter services go around roundabout & take A379 exit before the services, half mile, turn right at traffic lights & Tesco is there. Save yourself 10p/litre on fuel.
Don't forget worst case scenario you can always unhitch and drive in solo if getting desperately low!
As said however there are plenty of stops on A30 with decent access for fuel. Just watch your back end swing as always in these situations and you will be fine
went to Devon last year and stopped at a couple of the services but used Sedgemoor (M5) for main break for lunch. Large parking area for caravans and a picnic area near by.
