My new to me avondale looks to have never had its roof washed.if it has not in a long time.im in the process of fitting a midi (cut out) and a mini heki.before i cut out, and replace existing i think the roof needs a clean, any hints, tips and what to use for best cleaning results please. advice much appreciated.
maybe some warm soapy water and a soft brush, but rinse dirt off before you clean...if dirt or stains are still there after cleaning then try using auto glym paint restorer, work fine with my van then a coat of car wax...shines wonderfull now regards neil

I cleaned mine for the first time in a year last week. It didnt look bad from the bedroom window, but when i got up and looked closer, it was filthy.
I used a short ladder with padded ends, a bucket of warm water with Fenwicks cleaner in, and a decent car wash brush. It came up a treat. Ordinary soapy water just isnt strong enough to shift the baked on muck, you need something stronger to lift it.
Agree with Mick S, let it soak into the muck for a few minutes before trying to get it off as its probably been baked on in the sun for years. Don't be too agressive as the paint is very thin.

ours had been under a tree for a couple of years plus when we bought it ,it came up like new with MUC-OFF its magical stuff and i swear by it ,wet the roof ,applied the solution left it a few minutes and brushed and hosed off .it worked and its still clean a couple or more years later
