Hi All,

I am a complete newbie and recently purchased a caravan with a carver cascade 2 waterheater, when I connected the power supply the lights on the unit lit up.

Now unfortunately there is no light at all, having scoured the various forums it states that I need to reset the unit by pressing a red button.

Having literally looked every where I simply cannot locate it. I have removed the cowl at the outside of the van, looked under the wee flap there is no button.
Inside the van having carefully removed the cover I have looked at the tank, all around the tank and cannot see a red reset button. underneath the tank there is a small wedge shaped box but it is screwed to the unit and to access it will require the removal of the tank. Is the reset button located in this box?.

Any help or assistance would be greatly appreciated at this stage....

thanks in advance.

It may be that it is a gas only model. If tHat is the case, there is no reset button, if it is a GE model ( the one that is gas or electric the button is on the end of the tank away from the wall. No reset button try connecting a gas bottle, connecting your battery, fill the tank with water, then slide the switch. You should get some green ( i think ) lights. If the colours change or they start flashing turn off and try again several times it might just be the gas being slow to come through. If you still do not succeed wait for Gary to reply he makes a living mending carver products.

For a licence dated 1997 or later you must add together the plated max weight of the caravan and trailer, if the total is 3500 or less you can tow it. You may even tow a caravan with a MAM greater than the cars unladen mass the restriction was removed in 2013

Thanks Bill, really appreciate the fast response, there is no reset button on the end of the tank, it may be a gas model only :( how can I check?

If it is gas and electric, you should see a mains cable going into the end of the tank (furthest from the outside wall), there would also be a separate electric switch nearby. If it is gas only, then ensure it is full of water and that the gas is available before switching on at the control unit.

No lights ... Check fuses inside the control panel. Press top of panel and the front hinges down.

As Jesscar said, you need to check that 12 volts is on. The 12 volt supply goes straight to the back of the control box. It may be worth checking if you have some kind of multimeter. If it isn't there then it will be a fuse / dead battery / not switched on.
