hi all, we have just brought our first caravan which is a bailey ranger 500/5.2002. i am wondering if anyone knows what size awning we need, i have tried looking online but one website says 953cm and other says 927.if anyone has one of these caravans and could correct it for me would be great thanks zoe
Get a bit of string and starting from the ground, directly below where the awning rail is at the bottom of the van, feed the string upwards and into the awning rail, right up and along the top, the full length and then back down to the bottom at the other end and finally down to the ground.
Then measure the length of the string and that is the size of awning you need.
ok thank you i think i have found one which says 950/975. i am picking the van up tomorrow so will probably double check the size with the suggestion lobeydosser suggested. thanks all

Just mind and take the string right down to ground level, where the bottom of the awning will be pegged.
ok thank you, another quick question i have been looking at insurance i have found a quote with lo-cost caravan insurance from towergate, does anyone know if this company is ok to go with
They are supposed to be OK, but i used them once but never again, now fluctuate between Caravanguard and Saga getting quotes from both each year and the going with the best quote. Both of these if you have a claim handle it quickly.
Some friends of ours used E & L and said they were rubbish. We went through CETA and got a company called K. Drew. On paper they seem ok and are very reasonable but have not claimed so can't comment on how they actually deal with claims.
