I have a 1999 abi sprinter. Old ABI vans are really well made. Only issue I have had with mine is that the door is a bit twisted. Get it damp tested to be sure.
As said check for damp, not much else to go wrong apart from fridge/ electrics, I had one for a couple of years a 2001 model with toilet/shower luckily mine came with a awning that fitted on the back , but they might be hard to find now, we brought the adventurer to take the place of folding camper and whilst I enjoyed the adventurer there wasn't a great deal of comfort to it and we moved to a more conventional 2 berth which is a lot more comfortable, luckily I sold it for more than I paid and kept a few bits that we got with it , so it worked out ok for us but I have seen the odd adventurer for sale and they seem very expensive now , I brought ours privately for 2.3k with loads of bits with it and when I sold it privately minus some of the bits but including a rear awning I got 2.5 k , I looked at trading it in for the then new Bailey Orion but dealers were only offering around the 1k trade in
Hi thanks for the responses, and the price guide at stuart1955
I don't mind waiting for the right Adventurer to come along.
I've viewed a couple now too so am familiar with their quirky layout.
I'll be prepared for the damp too after buying one of the damp meters from eBay
Back to my "Make the most of your caravan" beginners book :) thanks again, and if any other readers have any Adventurer related advice please let me know.
I have an ABI Adventurer 2001 for sale from 29th July.
In outstanding condition and spotless inside and out.
With rear awning, bike rack, new seating cushions, hot and cold water, shower and cassette toilet. All documents and receipts from new.
Photos available from Sunday.
We had an adventurer, ours had terrible damp in the rear panel which stemmed from the shower we suspected.
Fab layout though, I loved that van.
Good luck finding one.
