I brought my Swift corniche 2012 second hand (private) the toilet did not flush when I first got it, I contacted Thetford they sent me a new control panel, I fitted this and still it did not work BUT the red light came on (to indicate that the tank was full) light even stayed on when I removed the cassette???
I contacted them again and they told me it could be the reed swift, they sent a new one and I fitted it this morning and its still not working, the red light stays on all the time even when cassette is removed.
Any ideas as I am at a loose end now.... I have taken the motor/ pump and powered this by the car battery it works fine.
Hmm not sure have you checked Inside cassette to make sure the float is working ok? It could also be the circuit board inside the toilet that is broken, that happened to brother In laws.

Yes I have checked the float and that seems to be moving up and down fine.
Circuit board inside toilet??? when I spoke to Thetford they said it could be 1 of 3 things:
1. Motor - which I have removed and checked on the car battery
2. PCB/ control panel - which they have replaced
3. Reed switch - which I have replaced today
The level light may be battery powered but the pump may be fed from the van 12volt system. If there has been a fault its likely that a 12v fuse has blown. Check your manual to see which one.
I have just been told that the light is red when the cassette is removed because that way it cuts out the pump just in case somebody try's to flush the toilet with the cassette removed.
Possibly the toilet thinks the cassette is missing.
Inside the base of the machine is a small oblong plastic bit that has a magnet and is pushed up by the casette lid.
