As you will know by now I have just bought a 30 year old Rapido.I've no caravanning experience but slowly I am restoring it .My problem today was, when the guy dropped it off he said the fridge ran on gas but when my friend was showing me where the fuses are he said it has wires going to it.It ,and the rest of the caravan was owned by a sticky back plastic enthusiast and every surface is covered so i peeled it off the fridge and it says 3 way, though it has no switches to determine which way you are going to use it.Inside it has a 0-6 dial, that is all.I have been told to plug it into the mains and it will automatically come on using the mains is that correct?
I don't know to check this out,
DOMESTIC (HUNGARY)
model RM123E
type A30-80K
volt230v
12v
GAS
Can anybody look this up for me please?I'm going away in a couple of weeks
I found an on/off switch as the gas pipe entrance, there are thick electric wires going inside at the back, thanks
It is made by Domestic and they did 2way and 3way versions. It looks as if you are lu my and have 3 way. Just try plugging it in to house electrics (obviously using the 230v wiring) to test. Other than that it will have to run on gas as the 12v is for keeping cold when towing and plugged into supplementary socket on tow hitch. Just do Google search for domestic 123e. You may still be able to obtain a manual.

If there's a red button by the dial that's the peizo ignition. Make sure gas is on, both ast bottle and the tap you've found. Turn dial to about 4, press and hold for about two minutes or so. You should be able to see a flame through a small window inside, or maybe under fridge, which will glow blue (a beggar in bright light). (Page 9 in the instructions Colin found)
