I had my caravan home this weekend to give it a thorough clean before our big holiday
I was checking all the electrics, fridge and gas and was wondering how long does it take the fridge to get down to a working temperature.
The fins at the rear of the compartment were getting cold so I know the fridge was working but it did seem slow.
So my question is how should it take the fridge to cool down to a working temp??
------------- Never argue with an Idiot, they drag you down to their level and beat you with experience!!!!
Mine takes quite a long time I leave it plugged in for at least 48 hours before loading it to make sure it is okay. It does seem to work better when it has some things in it though
------------- Live life to the full you are a long time dead
i cant see why to be honest all it does is cool down some air inside a box.. all this cold air is them let out or pushed out when the door is opened and stuff is put into the fridge.. :)
loading the fridge with pre cooled food probably makes the most sense.. or running the fridge plus food for a day before setting off.. sticking some ice packs in it will help..
There is nothing worse for energy efficiency than an empty refrigerator. When there is little thermal mass created inside to absorb and store the cold air, the cooling apparatus works overtime to maintain the desired temperature.
You need to put something in it??
