i use my van for touring so i have to carry water which includes whats in the toilet system.. :)

i carry maybe 100 litres of water in all.. i think thats about 100 kg in weight.. two full 23 litre plastic containers in the back of the truck.. the rest in the van this includes whats in the toilet system.. i would carry more if it wasnt for the extra weight..

i need (two people) about one 23 litre tank per day and that is being careful with it..

is the op asking about the hot water tank or a fresh water tank ?

I see the replys regards hot water tank, but they may be asking about a fresh water tank?

I do know that not all caravans have a fresh water tank on board.

my fresh water tank holds 30ltr, were as my hot water tank about 10 ltr, big difference regards weight if you intend towing whilst carrying water.

the OP question was phrased badly are you supposed to do something.. you are not "supposed" to do anything.. some do some dont.. it comes down to personal opinion and circumstances nothing else..
