We have a seasonal pitch. We arrived last thursday evening and there is a tourer set up opposite us. It has arrived since we were last here. I assumed that the owner(s) arent present as all of the curtains are pulled on both the van and the awning. None of the windows or roof vents are open at all ever. It doesnt change it remains like that all the time.
Yesterday out came a him, a her and two massive dogs. Yet the van still looks the same. Surely it must be like an oven inside???
I pointed out to my husband how odd I thought it was, please note I dont think there is anything wrong with everyone being different. Each to their own I say. Husband replied that there is probably a million reasons why........Im struggling to think of any....anyone
Maybe but still means that when they are inside everything is shut down. Plus the fact I havent seen the car move. We walked past last night early on, 7 ish, and the TV was on.
At a site I used to go to quite frequently the first pitch nearest the toilet block was regularly occupied by the same middle-aged couple in a motorhome. They would arrive, park up, swivel the front seats round to face away from the site and turn their tv on - I never saw him after that and the only time I saw her was when she was getting fresh water from the nearby tap. The site is surrounded by lovely countryside views so what was the point?? As you say - nowt as queer as folk

I have a very temperamental personality - 50% temper and 50% mental
We had a similar experience when we went away in May. Large motor home on the next pitch and also a 12 reg Mini. The only time we saw any movement over the whole weekend was when they used the Mini to drive down the hill to the restaurant (it was raining). Other than that the couple and their large dog stayed inside the motor home will all the curtains drawn the entire time we were there!
I don't think it's nosey...I like observing people and like to see how people are different...and no doubt people watch us and think we're a right odd bunch!
It would be a poor show if there was someone inside who was seriously ill / hurt or even dead and no-one had bothered to watch and see if there were any comings or goings!
I had a conversation along similar lines a couple of years ago with a colleague. She told me about her niece who had a daughter who needed 24/7 care due to disability. She got so many weeks (cant remember how many) respite per year and when they were able the couple went away on a short break. Colleague said at these times the niece sometimes didnt even bother to get out of her pyjamas - the couple just enjoyed the very little time they got being able to relax without worry. I never asked such a question again.
