Hi we are looking at a bailey senator vermont 2007 year and thinkin of changing our swift 2006 as its too small anyone had a bailey senator any advice we would appreciate thanks
Just check it for in cracks front and back panels or find out if one or the other has been replaced. It was a problem around that age, as we found out.
I won't go into all the boring details for fear of repeating myself but if you need to know more do a search of the forum for cracked panels etc.
Yes, do get it checked thoroughly and if it is a good 'un and the price is right...snap it up.
We have a 2008 Vermont and it is an excellent 2 berther, so well thought out and so spacious with loads of storage. The end shower room is exceptional and works so well. We have had no problems at all with ours
We have looked to trade it in on several occasions but have'nt found anything to match it. When it went in for service this year the mechanic advised us to hang on to it as it is one of the 'good 'uns' and he said the cracking problem aside this model was Baileys best van in his opinion.
Hi we have asked for a full damp report on this van havnt looked for cracks though will certainly look it over properly we have left a deposit on it to reserve it we have been told it gets a 15 month warranty with it x
Will do jeff am going to ask for a full damp report off glossop caravans told the guy we want the readings and thier report going to reiterate agin when I go to glossop caravan tomorrow
Hi, We have the series 5 Vermont for over 5 years & fingers crossed not had a problem with it. We love it & as mentioned not seen a better match for it. For a 2 berth it is really spacious.

hi well we looked it over today couple of niggles the cushion had come undone and the water pump outlet plastic box was loose nothing major so we tried to get the best deal we could . We had to pay the 2400 to change bearing in mind the van was up at 1300 more than ours .We have asked for a full damp report with the readings on areas of the van we asked them to check for stress cracks on the front panels . They gave us a 15 month warranty that includes damp the dispatch guy said as the van is only a 2007 they are going to take the motor mover off our van and have it fitted to the bailey .Then I said well thought wewere supposed to get a free gift .After hubby nearly curling up in a ball lol said I was a cheeky sod..... They gave us an envelope to stay on any caravan and camping club site free for 5 nights and it can be kept for next year. I made double sure I went into dispatch there was a nice lady there and asked her about all the jobs we had asked for doing to make sure tey were on the sheet, which she did ,then hubby said could they change the alko and jockey wheel from our van as our alko is better and we have a pneumatic jockey wheel for our mover they said yes they eill do that also .So its cost us about £1100 as we wanted to change itbutas its a bigger 2 berth and what they are giving us think its a pretty good deal .Whats your thoughts guys x
15 month warranty sounds good and it appears you have got a few extras too so can't be bad.
Hope you enjoy your new to you van and have many trips away.
Oh good luck! I'm sure you will be delighted with your Vermont, do keep us posted.
We meet so many ex-Senator owners who having moved on to the new Alu -Tech Baileys are bitterly regretting ever parting with their Senators.
Our next door neighbours have a brand new Bailey Unicorn which was found to be full of water internally when it went in for its 1st service this year. It has to be returned to the factory. That could have been us, as at one stage we had the cheque book out ready...
