How do you keep our carpet clean? I use a dustpan and brush which is woefully inadequate. By the time our fortnight is up I have to take the carpets out and scrub them! I have an absorbent mat and doormats. I even use an old quilt cover on the awning floor but the caravan carpet still gets filthy. any ideas?

Let them dry and vacuum them. We have a small 12 volt wet/dry cylinder vacuum bought many years ago and works well.

Take your shoes off at the door? Done that on muddy pitches.

muddy fields and clean carpets dont mix that well..

i have a vinyl floor with a loose carpet runner.. a stiff hand brush and a good shake (outside) every couple of days keeps most of the muck off..

Most of the time we put an old towel down over the door mat.
My biggest problem is dog hair, my black lab is always malting so I have to vac everyday whilst away.

I bought a Beldray vac from B&M it's very light can be used as an upright or hand vac it's plug in not rechargable and it was only £19.99. I thought when I bought it it would be rubbish for the price but it's brilliant, even though it looks llike a childs toy.

We have always used a carpet runner in our vans, that and a dirt devil hand held hoover.
