Where can i get the push button switch that fits in the fluorescent lighting. Its small, oblong in shape with the white push button on top. Been searching on the bay but can't find it. Does it have a name.

There are numerous switch types, an actual photo might help.
Otherwise, try your local Maplin store, or you could find something at CPC.

Don't forget, if the switch is a bit obscure to find, you can always fit an alternative providing the rating is similar (marked on the body of the switch).

They are a fairly standard switch, there's just some variance in their current rating and sometimes the thread/mounting hole can be obscure.
