We are off to Filey on Monday hopefully it will have passed over by the time we are due to go. However the weather forecast can change hourly as it is only Tuesday I sharn't worry just yet!

The weather on Sunday forecast heavy rain for tomorrow so I said the children could go to the Cinema, now the forecast is clear after about 10.00am, but they will still go anyway.

Hi, just chill relax don't put an awning up until storm has   passed, we were away last October when the storms were forecast in the new forest, 99 mph winds hit the needles just a couple of miles away. park car windward side of caravan if poss to help form a wind break and direct wind over caravan. forecasters are now scared of being made to look daft after the famous 1980,s hurricane assurance that an hurricane was not coming they scare every one else instead.

We are thinking of leaving a day early as the latest weather forecast is saying it's all coming Sunday.

Our Journey home on Sunday takes us across the M4's Severn bridge which obviously I don't fancy in the remains of a hurricane .....

A question to the experienced .... What is the maximum wind its safe to tow in ???

They will close the Severn Bridge if the wind gets too strong, but can't remember how strong that is. We are this side of it in South Gloucestershire, on the way home from Pembrokeshire so will keep an eye on the weather forecast.

I checked forecast yesterday morning for Sunday for Fife and it showed we would be getting rain and wind..12mph with 34 mph gusts.
I checked 5 hrs later and same area was 10-12 mph winds and 18-22 mph gusts.

It has changed again this morning with the worst of the winds now showing for Monday up to 31mph with 45 mph gusts.

We are due to come back from Prestatyn on the Sunday back to Wrexham but not sure if should use the A55 or go through A roads like St Asaph, Denbigh and Mold which may be a little more sheltered route.

never really towed in strong winds so not sure at what wind speeds you should really pull over or book another night and stay put until it calms down?
