Hello, I'm new on here and new to being a caravan owner. I have a Compass Reflection 430/4.
Excuse my naivety but the problem is that I do not have any power to the plug sockets when the caravan is connected to the car via the grey connector or when being powered by the leisure battery. The interior lights and hot air blower work on both sources. Do I need to be connected to 240 volt mains electricity or have a got a fault somewhere? I have checked all the fuses and trip switches.
Thanks. James
Hi, The battery will only power the lights and the water pump. For the plug sockets you would have to have a 240 volt supply. The grey plug is to power the fridge while driving ....hope this helps

The grey socket will only provide power to the fridge and charge the battery while the engine is running, it will disconnect when the engine is stopped.
I think you have answered this yourself ,YES you do need to be connected to the mains to get 240 volts ,your car and/or caravan battery only give out 12volts .
You do not have a fault but I would suggest some serious reading to know what does what ,as although this is only beginners enquiry mistakes with caravan electrics and gas can be lethal .good luck
You need to plug into your EHU cable to the caravan at home, then you will be able to check that the three pin plugs work. They won't work off the battery but are for when you are on EHU. You won't need a connector on a site, as the EHU lead just plugs into a similar socket.one of these
