Thats good news that they are going to pay and so they should.
As sue-k-2009 said its their children so therefore their responsiblity and they should not walk away from that, nor teach children its ok to do that.

hi glittering prize, we've had the 300 tourer for about eighteen months now and i love it, tows the caravan brilliantly and returns good mpg for a 3 litre v6, are you a member of the 300c forum, if not have a look as the knowledge on that site for these cars is amazing, i'm gasman on there too.

Glad you got somewhere eventually.
I always feel slightly sorry for my 4 as I can't break rules and try and get them to follow them only to have half the campsite kids(it seems) doing the exact opposite. Bikes and scooters mainly last week out after dusk no lights, going against the one way, chasing caravans and motorhomes.

We wont use commercial site because of this reason after having a run with a family who insisted on playing cricket near are van and refused to stop after we asked them to move elsewhere .
The site managers did nothing so I told the father that any damage he would pay or I would pursue via the courts .
At least the with the caravan Club you do not have this hassle as the rules are adhered to


I agree, never had a problem on a C.C. the wardens are not scared to tackle a problem if required but to be fair, we personally have never had an issue on a C.C. site. That alone is worth the price of the membership.imo



Totally agree thats why we like cc sites, balls around vans and tents and dogs off leads a real no no for me.

Been to a few commercial sites where the owners/wardens aren't bothered. I usually ask before booking now, I know a lot of people with families maybe think we are being kill joys but this incident reitterates why it's important to have these rules.

I am please it has been sorted for all concerned.

I hope the mother then turned round and took the money from the teenagers, in cash or chores. Maybe also a contribution from the grandparents for not making sure the kids obeyed the site rules, plus the (admittedly unwritten) campsite codes. Teenagers are old enough to know better, especially if they've already been told by the neighbouring owners. But I also think that the grandparents are somewhat at fault here.

Anyway it's got sorted out and I'm pleased for you. Have to say though that as the owner of a rugby playing teenager they're and we're not all like that, he's known better than to play round other folk's units since he was old enough to walk.

The site owner should also take some responsibility for allowing them to play with a rugby ball near caravans. Where were they when this happened?

My thoughts are that the site should bear responsibility especially if they had a rule stating no ball games. They chose not to enforce the rule so they may be liable. They can then claim off the other party.
Secondly if this is not suitable, hand it over to the insurers who will then claim off the "grandparents" who should have known better. This should not affect your No Claims bonus as you were not at fault and don't let them tell you otherwise.
