Hi
Hubby been talking to a few mates and has made us think. When towing caravan ( we have twin axle) is it compulsory advised to stick speed limit stickers on back of van. Is 60 etc.
Wondering if this is case as travelling to France next week but don't have any on back of our van.
Checked with caravan club and stated as advisory but thought we would check what is the norm.
Regards
They are available to buy on board your ferry for a couple of quid if you want to put your mind at rest. My attitude is not to give the French authorities any excuse to pick fault. Sounds like you need a 80 and a 90 sticker which are supplied together in the pack
They are useful to make those following you aware of the painfully slow maximum speed, 50 mph, you are limited to travel on single carriageways even if they are main arterial routes.
I cable tie mine to the caravan for the time over there.
I know the current view is that "we" don't require them but should I be stopped for other reasons, I don't feel too confident arguing the detail of EU law in French, so simply fit them.
Edit: that said I travel at the "natural" speed of the lorries so not to be a rolling road block or draw attention to myself.
