Butane's fine at this time of year, but when the temperature drops to near zero (which of course is a possibility in October) the liquid will not change to gas, so propane is usually advised for winter use as it's usable at much lower temperatures.

So when your butane cylinder is empty you could exchange it for a propane one. This would involve obtaining a different regulator to fit the particular cylinder, or, in the case of a fairly recently built 'van, a compatible high-pressure hose, or "pigtail", to connect the cylinder to the bulkhead regulator fitted in the gas locker.

Wouldn't do any harm to sterilise the Aquaroll (Don't forget to drain the entire plumbing system before laying-up for winter).

Basic essentials - a step - once forgot mine what a nightmare that was !

Various blocks of wood 2"X 4" as a guide - essential for levelling and increasing the range of the steadies. I have about 8 or 9 of various lengths.

Thanks for the advice guys. Going to change the gas over as soon as butane cylinder runs out. Like the compass idea too. The range has earned a fortune off me today
