Hello tin-tenters...your help would be appreciated.Asking on behalf of a friend who thinks I should know How and what checks could be run before buying a second hand van privately?By checks I mean against being previously stolen or having outstanding finance on the van.It is not cris registered or certainly hasnt been kept up to date..so any other means of checking? any ideas of cost? Thanks in advance...I have told him you will know the answers..so dont let me down I can manage with the other stuff...kicking the tyres--poking a screwdriver into everything etc etc

If its not Cris registered then there is nothing else you can do other than cross your fingers.

If its at an age where it should be Cris registered then you need to wonder why they didnt update the records.
