I am at a site in France and a Dutch bloke I was talking to said he went to a truck wash to do his caravan which was specially good for doing his roof.
Do we have truck washes in the UK?

We do indeed, I use one at work all the time but you wouldn't put your caravan through it, unless you wanted to take the roof off! Brushes would be far too harsh and the chemical would be far too powerful .

We used a truck wash last year to wash our motorhome when we were in France. It had steps up to a platform going up the side so that you can reach the roof. I have never seen one in the Uk though.
You have got me thinking now. The one we used was like a hand car wash but a lot bigger at a supermarket petrol station so maybe it wasn't a truck wash we used
They had RV washes in Canada with a gallery where you could go up and do the roof.
Used one for our rental before we took it back. I did not do the roof though!

Truck washes use stuff called Traffic Film Remover, which is a very strong detergent which removes all traffic film and grease.
It will also remove all wax and polish. If ytou look at older buses and commercials you will see they have very little shine to the paint, this is a result of using the stuff.
In France some of the Car Washes have a bay with a gantry which you can park your caravan / motorhome under and use the brush attachment or power washer if you wish to clean the roof. Probably meant for vans, but I've seen motorhomes in them.

That's what I'd like to see. Strange we don't have them considering we must have as many vans as France and, with respect to any Europeans on here and going by the vans on this site, British vans tend to be newer and shinier :-)

As I mentioned, perhaps they use truck wash soap whick kills the shine
