We were told by our dealer that one reason for Elddis dropping the Winterhoff chasis was the difficulty some owners had in aquiring the knack of lifting the handle correctly whilst hitching up and winding down onto the towball at the same time. It certainly took us a few times and struggles before we got the knack of it, and even now it takes both of us to hitch up as the handle is too stiff and heavy for me to lift without using both hands, whist my OH winds it down onto the towball.
Given the choice, l would have prefared the Al-ko chassis and hitch.
We have had a few minor teething issues with our Avante, but im pleased to say that our dealer, Raymond James caravans have been excellent at putting things right, and even arranged a mobile fitter to come and sort out our toilet flush at our home address when their fist attempt at repair had failed. This saved us another 70mile round trip back to their workshop, and the mobile fitter is approved by Elddis to do their servicing and repairs, which is handy to know should we ever need his services in the future.
