Hi all, I would like some advice please.

We have seen a new 2014 sprite alpine 4 at a local dealer.

The caravan was on sale for £14,005 plus a delivery charge of £545. making total £14550.

We've been offered it for £13,500 with an aqua roll, wastemaster and half price awning thrown in.

This would be a very big financial step for us and have never purchased a new van before.

We would really welcome any advice if its a good enough deal and how good a caravan it is.

Hi
We have looked at the sprite 4 a lot and came very close last year but have decided to wait a while - have you already got a van ? If so would it be better to negotiate an external gas or electric point rather than the aqua roll which you might already have - and have you looked on caravanfinder web site - they have one on there at a dealership 2014 model with a diamond pack and two free nights at a site for £13695 - if you only look to confirm your deal is good it's worth it - you can search just on sprites.

Good luck and enjoy your new van I'm jealous !!

Go for it, looks a good price and deal.
My Alpine 4 (2006) has not given us any problems and is used in all seasons, it is also damp free, only one problem last year, had to have a new burner fitted to the fridge.

Quite a big saving available in Shefield £12,295

Some rtailers have bought off a lot of surplus stock from swift and selling it at a discount. We are looking at the 6 beth model and will probably buy one tomorrow

You wont get them to budge on price but its £1300 cheaper than you have been offered so far

Thanks for the quick replies.

This is our first caravan as we have been tenters for many years, just getting a bit too creaky for it now.

Hadn't thought about an external gas or electric point. The other things they are throwing in could be picked up quite easily too.

We've had a look at many second hand ones but decided to go for new as prior to retirement this would hopefully give us some peace of mind.

We are restricted on weight so have looked at this and the Venus 490/4. The Alpine looks a better quality to us.

I've just done a quick search and have found prices for the Alpine and the same spec from £12295 (Sheffield caravans) so maybe some further dealing?

Thanks again

Ha you must have posted at the same time as me.

The electric and gas external points are normally on the higher end caravans that we have seen.

We asked if we could have a gas point fitted FOC and the dealer said yes , we didn't need the starter pack - I think its worth asking for anything you think you might need. When we started out it was all the little bits you need that added up - like wheel and hitch locks.

hi all, just a quick update. I spoke to the original dealer and told him about the offer in Sheffield.

He's reduced the price several times today and after much negotiation we have it for £12,677. With extras, first year servicing free and 10% off any goodies in the shop. and its a local place so no problems if warranty work needed.

Not bad from original cost!

Thanks again
