My wife and I have decided to buy our first caravan (new Bailey Unicorn) for lots of weekends away in the UK. We were talking last night about what can be left in the caravan from week to week and what should come home with you.
My thoughts are that cooking bits, washing bits etc can all stay in the caravan but what do you suggest with pillows, duvets, sleeping bags and bed sheets (that don't need washing)and fridge things etc?
If it's non perishable then leave it in, obviously fridge things need to come out as the fridge will be off when not being used, common sense really, you don't want moldy bread hanging around in your cupboards! We take the part baked bread and cook it whilst on site, lovely!
Good luck with the new van

As above post, be make sure you leave the fridge door ajar with the grey holding catch. We also always put a folded paper towel in the freezer compartment door to hold it ajar. All this lets fridge dry off properly and prevents mildew forming.
Above 2 posts are spot on. As for bedding we use our normal bedding so that is in and out of the van each trip.
At end of trip give the toilet cassette a good rinse through, never leave waste in it.
As above with the food and fridge etc but we gave sleeping bags in the caravan and leave those in with pillows for going week to week and take them out to wash when needed. We also leave in some toiletries and towels in as we go whenever we can. As soon as stuff is washed it goes back in ready for the next time.
Simon was about to ask the same questions so thanks.
Also battery question. We are going to be placing our caravan at a secure storage place as we can't keep it here. At the moment planning a couple or more trips before storing over December till march (i have a wimp of a OH!). so if using it say every fortnight do we leave battery in situ. What about when stored for 3 months/ What else do we need to do> Also thinking of a caravan cover for the 3 months storage. Any advice gratefully accepted by us newbies.
