hello there everyone
l am new to all this!
l'm a very proud owner of a 1971 alpine sprite 4 berth..
does anyone out there know the weight of the caravan please or could you please point me in the right direction as l am finding it quite hard to find this out!!!
The swift group don't have records going that far back. Thank you for taking the time to read.
Kind Regards
Janet xx
Jeff is right as many of the older caravans displayed the weights on the nearside of the 'A' frame usually under the front independent gas locker. The later caravans had the weight plate below the caravan door.
The weighbridge is the way to go anyway. As if there have been any mods over the years, the plated weight will be out the window anyway.
It always pays to put the whole combo on a bridge every now and then, just so you know where you are with payloads, and whether to allow the wifes handbag on the trip or not.
Thanks you for your in put l got quite excited about finding a plate on the A frame just scraped the many layers of paint off, only to find it saying "Remove to fit electric reversing system!"
Nothing under the door..
l am wanting a new car that will pull 900kg.
when a van is full what weight would it normally add on the the weight of the van?
Thanks you for your help xx
How long is caravan body? if 12ft then I doubt caravan will weigh 700kg fully loaded, if 14ft then perhaps 800kg. It might be difficult to find actual max laden weight but provided you only carry a normal compliment of gear like gas bottle/clothes/food etc you will be ok.
