We have just changed our Abbey Aventura (4.5 years) for a 2 year old Elddis Majestic 504, collected caravan went through all hand over times getting on collected hand books in dealer bag, set off to put caravan in storage. Sits down at home opened hand book bag to find copies down loaded off of internet, a little disappointed now,
was told on buying all books present but never shown (will not fall for this one again), contacted dealer rep today (waste of time). Has any one ever contacted a previous owner? Can details be done via CRIS? I aware of Data protection. Other wise caravan is great 1st outing next week, no other faults with Dealer.
Previous owners don't usually mind and happy to help
------------- If you're not on a fell your wasting your feet and for 2014 it's.......Feb Castleton Mar North Yors Moors; Apr Sutton on Sea; May Thirsk; Jun Clapham/Riverside (Lakes); July Wharfedale; August Crakehall; Sept Knaresborough; Oct Wirral Park/Clitheroe
I wouldn't be bothered about the other handbooks you have copies so not like you have no info ? but I would be on to the dealer about the service book is it still under warranty ? if so you will need it if not not sure that that would make a difference anyhow
I would be concerned if no service book as Elddis has a 6 year warranty on the body against damp. I would be wondering if the previous owner had it serviced and whether the selling dealer serviced it properly.
BTW it should be up to the dealer to contact the previous owner. Also is the caravan CRIS registered?
Caravan is CRIS registered shows one owner, its got 3 year warranty, which will take caravan to 5 years old. Its also to get the 6 year warranty from Elddis transferred to me I am after.
Emailed CRIS yesterday no answer yet.
Service history on its way, CRIS said no to passing details on which I expected, contacted Service side of Dealership we bought it off and can help us out.
Luckily caravan bought new and serviced their by its previous owner.
