Hi there,

Became a member tonight because I am in desperate need of advice. After spending the last 4 years having to make the seating area up into a bed we have decided that it is now time to buy a caravan with a fixed bed. Because we have a large family who like to visit the seating area at the front of the van is more important to us. Does anyone know or own a caravan with a fixed bed that will seat 6 adults in comfort, even tho the van only has to sleep 4 people. Many thanks x

I recently spent a night in a hobby caravan on a lads night out and that seated 9 of us and had a fixed bed.

What about the swift challenger sport 544, it has a fixed bed when you want to make it up permanently,(same size and also very comfortable) but as we also have family who visit etc we put the bed down and it becomes a seating area for 5 in a few minutes.
The front bench seats will sit 3 either side too.

It depends on size of caravan you want & size of your tow car. As mentioned, the large German caravans such as Hobby, Fendt or LMC will have the layout you require but those with body length over 7mtres are not legal tow with vehicle under 3.5t gross(ie no private cars even 4x4s)& those just under that will require largish 4x4 to tow them.

You would do well to look at all makes of German caravans. Large UK built caravans tend to have large toilet/shower areas that reduce interior space.
