Most people will advise on Milenco Aeros.
Go to your local caravan dealers and visit their accessory shop, most will probably have Milenco.

I think they are mostly universal. I Just picked some up from Go Outdoors in Stockport. They are 2 for £10 at the moment or £6.99 each.

Feel nostalgic (probably the wrong word) for the trailer tent, but love the caravan. "Camping" all year round is fantastic.

I agree with blueexpo97 with Milenco

I have add a number of mirrors over the years which has the rubber bands around the mirror and although they are universal between cars, ours often snapped and needed replacing (but they are a lot cheaper!!)

Since upgrading to Milenco I have not looked back.

Pros - Very clear mirror without hardly any vibration
Cons - Price

Might look at some of the Milenco ones myself in a few months/weeks when I get paid again, but the cheapo £10 ones will do for now lol

I got some cheap mirrors which actually attach with suction cups to the normal door mirrors. Thought it'd be great because I could adjust the mirrors remotely.

Wrong-o.

They're quite small and narrow, and even the convex one left me with a small field of view. Plus the suckers meant I couldn't see out of my normal mirrors.

I have Mileco Grand Aero now, pricey but well worth it, can see everything with no vibration. And I still have remote adjustment, called a wife (I can say that because she doesn't read these posts).

Strange, I thought that was what they were used for.

Seroiusly though, I am another strong advocate of the Milenco Aeros, I use the Grand version with extenders to get a good view all the way down the sides of the van.

I found this good graphic explaining why we generally need to use towing mirrors.

Ahh - don't you just love that adjustment system.

I have a pair of cheapy ones which I got from Halfords from memory at 11 quid each.

Problem with this type is generally the poor quality of the clamp with the retaining screw being plastic the thread wears out easily and also the rubber cushions for the feet to protect the car mirror where the clamp tightens keeps falling off.

Solution buy replacement Milenco clamps off fleabay for 16 quid a throw and fit them to your cheapy mirros. Hey presto you have Milenco quality clamps which are heavy duty and hard wearing with a sensible sized viewing area rather than those pansy teardrop lenses Milenco fit.

Best of both worlds and done quite cheaply - result!!

Best Regards

David

Those cheapo strap-on Maypole mirrors look very much like the ones I use. I have had no problems with them at all. The Milenco ones may be better, I haven't tried them, but I doubt there is very much in it. Any vibration I get is barely noticeable, and certainly not a problem. If I had any criticism at all it would be that I would prefer a larger glass area. However, the Milenco ones look slightly smaller if anything.

Colin

I have tried 3 different types but finally found that the Milenco Grand Aero towing mirrors are the best for both rear view and no vibration plus they are an award winning product. See more about them below.
