Hi we're looking at upgrading our 2006 swift tourer to a new lunar quasar, does anybody have any helpful hints/tips on getting the best deal at the local dealership? I would prefer to part exchange then try to sell private.
May sound daft but what exactly is a delivery charge of £495???
I would really welcome your help with this matter.
Thanks
Kostas
Is delivery charge from factory to dealer or dealer to customer.Whichever if you are spending 15 grand plus on a van i think they have a bloody cheek putting that on aswell. But i suppose someone has to pay their bonus, enjoy your new van

I would wait for the show and see if you can either go or find out on here what sort of special offers are on. Then visit a local(ish) trusted dealer ( if there is one) to see whether you can get the show deal from them and also haggle hard for and remember it's not all about trade-in value - it the price it costs to change and bear in mind what you can also negotiate in terms of a a mover( or price to swap one over), clamps/locks and another accessory you may need/want.
We have had excellent deals at the October show with our last two vans (both the same dealer incidentally).
eg no delivery charge, 10% discount and free mover swap, plus we got a fully fitted solar panel (Truma) as the show offer and a p/x which was higher than we had seen our existing van on retail sale for. Dealer is about an hour away from home, not a deal breaker for us.
I would also wait for the show, we went last year looking at the Quasar 546 and found so many copycat Lunar Quasars 546 which is still a lunar but rebadged with a different design, these was also offering around 3k in extras so I guess you could have a dealer war to see who can get you the best deal.
Defo see private if the van is solid
