Hi guys
After having a second Swift caravan go damp I'm looking for another new van and most definitely NOT another Swift. Been today looking at Coachman vans at Wandahome Knottingley and got very positive vibes from them. Not pushy at all, very obliging and helpful and wondering if others on the forum have recently used them?. I've read some negative things about Wandahome South Cave and also Knottingley in the past although they were around 2009 and wondered how they are nowadays please?
Cheers
Steve
Hi Gasman Steve I cant vouch for the Knottingley Depot but if the crew there are as good as the crew at Southcave. I would recommend them. I have never met a caravan dealership /depot who have gone out of their way to be helpful as this crew to source hard toget spares and come up with the goods at such reasonable prices far lower than dealers on web even E-bay If I am in the area I always pop in for a look around shop and site. But I suppose all dealers have bad aswell as good days I have never heard anyone call them when I have suggested they look them up or pay them a visit.

We bought our Elddis from Wandahomes Knottingley last March. They were helpful, informative and the handover was very good. We haven't had any problems with our caravan so cannot comment yet on after sales.

Can I just point out that the Wandahome at South Cave has nothing to do with the shop Waudby's on site, so any positive experience (which we've received plenty of) comes from the owners and staff of Waudby's and not Wandahome staff. The staff in the shop have a host of experience and we got to know them quite well as we looked close by and popped in most weeks.
We have also bought a van from Wandahome South Cave and not long after we bought the 4 year old van we needed a part replacing (and to this date we still haven't had that part replaced, ended up having to do ourselves before selling the van) so although our experience of buying was positive the aftersales was rubbish and has put us of ever buying from them again

Hi folks
Perhaps I should rephrase my original question ;-)
If you have dealt with them before would you -
A) Buy from Wandahome Knottingley again?
B) Buy another Coachman?
Regards
Steve
Dianne Go on to Yahoo UK & Ireland,Youll find Wandahome And Waudby,s Southcave Are one and the same outfit. Waudbys sell caravans as well as Wandahome from same site I cant see two rival companies operating from same site unless at a caravan show.
Without being disrespectful and possibly getting into trouble, I hope that answers your queries. What's promised and what you get are two different things. Good luck!
Thanks all for the very helpful replies. Not placed any orders with anyone yet. Its a shame that an enjoyable pursuit like caravanning is marred by the hassle that comes with buying a van. Bought two Swifts(damp, long story) and one Avondale(damp,a longer story) ;-((. I read somewhere that he/she wished the Japanese made caravans !! I would endorse that comment no probs!
best
Steve

We have not been to Waudbys or Wandahome since moving to North Yorkshire 18 months ago, so we're very surprised by the fact that Wandahome have purchased Waudby's, however I do still feel that it is important to point out our experience of both the seperate companies as they both were when we used them (Wandahome - Caravans & motorhomes, Waudby's - Caravan and camping accessories and equipment; which is how it was able to run 2 companies on one site). I just hope it does not lower the customer service at Waudby's as it was exceptional

When we bought our Coachman van at the NEC it was between Wandahome and Kimberly caravan for some reason I opted for Kimberly caravans in Nottingham and really can't fault them we live in Suffolk and they even opened the workshop up to take our van in for servicing on a Sunday (we was on our way home from North Yorkshire) and kept it 3 weeks until we were going back up north. That's what I call good service
