just thought id share the conversion I have done on my c200 thetford toilet. ive not long had my bailey caravan which had a manual flush toilet . we noticed that the flush was fairly weak and after stripping the pump found that it was damaged causing a loss of pressure when operating the flush. I was going to replace the pump at a cost of about £30-£40 but after looking on the net decided to have a go at converting to a electic flush. I ordered a whale pump off ebay for £10 and a switch from maplins for £5. i stripped out the plunger stuff out of the housing and fitted the pump inside it to stop it from moving about. the switch fitted inside the hole where the plunger handle comes out of the top of the tank. I ran a 12v feed under the van and through the floor into the bathroom. I drilled a hole at the top of the water tank and ran the power cable through a water- proof gland . I used water proof crimps and heat shrink to keep the water out. I don't have many pics but I can get some if anyone wants some. p.s the toilet has been re-sealed where it is missing in the photos
the conversion wasnt too difficult and took about 3 hours to do.the flush is now alot more positive and has come in cheaper than replacing the manual pump. i suppose the only downside is it uses more water but that doesnt bother me tbh

Interesting idea and does in fact look fairly neat where you've fitted the switch.
Incidentally, the manual pump more than likely had a broken retainer clip on it's base - about 8-9 quid to replace, but to be fair they are prone to go.

Our pump packed up in the same way last year, and I managed to mended it with a couple of cable ties, but this method seems an excellent idea.
Can't seem to PM you for photos!
Can you send them to ""grahamdavis at headweb.co.uk""?
hevnste, that looks like a job well done, AND you have the advantage of knowing that quality time has been spent on it - unlike the trust-to-luck we face with hidden production line work. Congrats.
