Hi been looking at the Bailey Cartagena 2015 with the gloss finish woodwork and white body shell. Have outgrown our single axle and looking for the twin axle for the extra space.
Does any one have any problems with Baileys and the Unicorn range?
Thinking of trading in a Swift challenger sport for one.
Regards
When someone puts a post on here about a possible caravan purchase why do some people jump in with negative replies even when they have never owned one themselves.
they seem to pick up on the couple of bad experiances then its like a rolling stone
where are all the satisfied owners,i guess they dont feel the need to reply.
will any of the negative replys come from someone that has a Bailey Cartagena 2015, i dont think so.
kawasakiversys, it looks like a great van whatever you decide enjoy your new van
Im just impressed with the way it looks, inside and out, and the price is a lot cheaper then the comparable swift model.
I have had teething problems with my swift from new and so Im quite open minded to the fact that caravans are not perfect. But as a way to enjoy family holidays you cant beat them.
Many thanks for the replys though..........
I agree you can say that about most brands, but Bailey have a terrible reputation on here,
Alpiner your right I've never owned one, the reason is when I was looking for a new van and went to the lawns show both the bailey and elddis models I was interested in were falling apart after 3 days ie lockers and trim hanging off I looked in the coachman and it still looked new that's why I bought a coachman.
we have a brand new Bailey Valencia and touch wood no problems. we love it ,this is our 2nd Bailey and would have nothing else. the heating is the best ever ,it only takes 7 mins to get-up the full heat.Thats bliss...
We have a Unicorn Vigo bought this year, problems to date:Mattress cover developed a bulge-it has been replaced.
Glassholder in cocktail cabinet (its a perspex moulding) broke, one front window has a mark inside. New parts on order.
The big fri dge is very useful, side bed comfortable and heating is brilliant.
This is our 5th Bailey all have been excellent.

We've had 3 so far.......last one was a bit of a nightmare, but the dealer was great and we've just ordered our fourth!
We've gone for the new Unicorn Valencia as it ticks an awful lot of boxes. The exterior mouldings have been changed a lot and gives a much better look to it. Internally there have been a number of changes and looks good with plenty of storage.
After the problems with our last van we were considering a.n.other make; met a family on holiday with said make and they were so disappointed with it; it just made us realise that pretty much all vans have their issues......even coachman apparently...

What if the Hokey Cokey really is what it's all about....?
The simple fact is that buying a new caravan is a total lottery. Shoddy quality control by manufacturers puts you at the mercy of dealers.
If it was cars, people would be up in arms.
We have a 2014 Cartagena and are very pleased with it, yet to see a 2015 in the flesh but looks very good, the change to the kitchen looks an improvement. The front storage lockers have gone and the front panels look like an improvement.
The dealer is key and we have had excellent service from Lowdhams at Huddersfield but others state the opposite!
Value for money is good too.

I think every manufacturer has some problems sometimes. The motor trade is the same.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I have owned 2 bailey caravans and have had no major problems. Any niggles i have had have been rectified under warranty.
Whatever you buy I hope you have many years of happy caravanning.
We have used ours for about 9 weeks since purchase in March, it has been very comfortable, tows beautifully and the minor faults have been rectfied.
Thanks to Salop Cosford for good aftersales service.
Just had 3 nights at Chesire Oaks CC site, it was cold at night! The Alde heating was great, lovely and warm. Cracking system!
This is 5th Bailey, over many years, we have never had a major problem with any of them.
