What times of year do people use their caravans? I assume it is still seasonal to a certain extent.
We will only get our 1st trip in October half term, so we will be looking for a campsite that has something fun on site or nearby for kids that is all weather - in the midlands probably. Any ideas?
My friends use theirs all year round.
My caravan has glass windows with no double glazing, no gas heating and very poor insulation (she is a very old van!) so my season usually runs from beginning of March through to the beginning of November.

We try and use ours all year round, but in reality our last trip will probably be in November. We start again in the new year as soon as the weather allows. Hopefully Feb or March at the latest.
Plenty of sites around the Midlands, but not sure about the all weather options. Hopefully someone else will be able to recommend an all weather option for the kids.
We have used ours all year round, our best Christmas for ages was in the caravan! Unfortuantly we wont be using ours till next April now as Hubby ran out of leave (silly thing did not keep an eye on it) and we have 2 kittens that need to grow up a bit before they come on holiday with us, oh and a 3 year old cat who needs to accept them a bit more too!x
Try Don Amotts Lakeside site between Mablethorpe and Cleethorpes. It has a good playground with a few other play areas for toddlers. There is a swimming pool, restaurant, tennis court etc. We went in July with 2 grandsons aged 2 & 10. Neither were bored and the tv was not used.
We went away on 30th December last year and stayed away in our caravan until 12th January.
I hope to be away over New Year again for 2014/15. It is warm and comfortable in our Swift caravan.
------------- We camped for years. In 2019 we bought an Elddis Avante 454. We like it as it is short (6.9m) and fits in our driveway and has a fixed bed.
We had 127 nights away in the caravan in 2023.
Use ours until January then start again in March. As long as you are warm and dry, you will be fine. Lots of woolly jumpers and thick socks do us fine!
Hi, we use lytton lawn caravan site near milford on sea new forest, for October half term, its part of shorefield holidays and you get a free pass to use the club and pool facilities at their holiday park 2 miles down the road, its an easy run from the midlands we do it in about 3 hrs from derbys. find it ideal for this time of year with entertainment or a swim in the pool for the kids just down the road free of charge.
