mine has four panels as well, never attempted to put it up with them fitted in. Big enough job with them out, and we pack it up with the fur panels lying along the folded roof before rolling up. Much easier than when all zipped in.

We have done it with all the four panels zipped in on a size 14 awning, only through ignorance though! Very Very heavy and no time saved as takes longer to thread through awning rail, plus all the ducking and diving under all the panels to put in the poles......
we always do it with them in place its fine and so much easier takes no longer to thread through the rail imo really its down to personal choice xx ( ours is a size 17 270cm width )
The poles are all inside where the awning will sit in the right places I stand outside hubby stands inside
In a strange way I found putting the awning up on my own quite therapudic. Took my mind of the stress of the working week. Must say I added the panels at pegging stage after the poles were in place.
Try putting up an awning when the sun is warm, you will have lost a stone or two never mind needing a shower, easy way, take the panels out and fit in again before you peg down simples..

I find a few beer breaks, before during and after help ease the sweating
Never considered the need to unzip panels, our full awning is only a size 14. Certainly in favour of a few beer breaks, but be careful too many of these can result in very sore fingers when it comes to the pegging out stage!!
In the past I have left all panels in and pulled through after spraying awning channel with silicon spray.
I tried it with new van and awning and nearly gave my self a hernia. so all panels came out. until the rest was erected. just depends on size of awning.
My new one is a Dorema size 19 all season in black and grey. The boss had to have one to match the stripes on the new van.
